Yushin Okami May Have To Wait For His Title Shot

Yushin Okami may be waiting a while before he gets his shot at Anderson Silva's middleweight title. Speaking after last night's UFC 126, UFC president Dana White acknowledged that Okami may have to wait, as Silva's next fight is likely to be against Georges St. Pierre. Once St. Pierre's title defense against Jake Shields done in April, the Silva/GSP fight is expected to be next, and if so Okami will need another fight to claim the spot as the top middleweight contender.

"I've got to figure out the Okami piece of this thing," said White. "He's going to be pissed. Okami got hurt and couldn't get that fight (at UFC 90), and now he's been waiting forever. Okami does deserve that fight. I think Okami is one of the best 185-pounders in the world."
