"No Full Fight Card Was Available Or I Would Have Posted It Sorry Peeps"
Jens Pulver at one time sat atop the mixed martial arts world, reigning over the lightweight division as the UFC’s first champion of the division. It’s been a long, treacherous road for Pulver, who has fallen from those lofty heights.
Pulver, in his WEC debut, scored an impressive 35-second submission win over the formidable Cub Swanson, proving he still has the chops to compete against some of the fighters that he inspired. He then fell upon a six-fight skid that leaves him searching for a rebound.
The former UFC lightweight champion has now moved on to join Team Curran in the Chicago area, enlisting the likes of team leader Jeff Curran to help him re-tool his game, and get back on the winning track.
In his first fight since making the move to Team Curran, Pulver will step in the cage with Mike Lindquist in the main event of XFO 38: Pulver vs. Lindquist at Woodstock Harley Davidson in Woodstock, Ill.
The fight takes place on Saturday, Jan. 22, and heads the six-fight professional portion of the fight card, which also features Michele Gutierrez and IFL veteran Mike Corey, as well as the promotional debut of Team Curran fighter Joey “The Real” Diehl. There will also be several amateur bouts to open the fight card.
Can Jens Pulver put a “Li’l Evil” back in his game, and bounce back like he often has during his career?
